The Bachelor of Science in Organizational Management consists of 125 credit hours: 47 hours of Liberal Arts Core, 51 hours of Organizational Management major courses (to include concentration courses, if applicable) and 27 hours of Interdisciplinary Electives*.
*Interdisciplinary Electives: Credits earned at Charleston Southern University, transferred from previously attended institutions, or hours approved from the following: CSU Challenge, CLEP, EXCELSIOR, DANTES and Advanced Placement (AP) exams; as well as International Baccalaureate (IB) and Military credit.
Students can transfer up to 89 credit hours from a regionally accredited 4-year institution, and up to 68 hours from a regionally accredited 2-year institution (not to exceed 89 hours total). Students can submit unofficial transcripts for review to see how their credits will be applied to the BSOM before or after applying for admission.
Having open enrollment throughout the year allows you to begin whenever you are ready! Enrollment occurs before every 7-week term: 2 terms in the Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters.
With courses just 7 weeks in length, students have the option to take 1 to 3 courses per accelerated session, making it possible to take up to 54 credit hours per year. Professors and students exchange ideas in the course discussions boards, and students submit assignments and quizzes for weekly grading. Our flexible course format allows students to work at their own pace on a schedule that is convenient for them.
While the majority of our courses have e-books built in at no charge to our students, several courses do require a textbook purchase. Students should plan in advance to purchase the appropriate textbook for a course so that it arrives before the course begins.
